Are you familiar with the films of Raoul Ruiz?

I recommend Demotivational posters.

Subhadip - thanks! A lot of books on that list, but I'll scan through some of them.

Blaine Brown's book is pretty good, although a little on the theoretical side at times. It's still my first point of reference when I'm filming, though.

Lyst or the sig as a whole? hmm alright im assuming you linked that film because its 5 hours long. Is that line actually from the movie? or more used just to describe this type of movie? Also im more interested in the direct translation and who came up with this term?

I can give you several suggestions of the books I used, are you looking for a more technical book or film aesthetic? And what's your price range?

Dunno about books, but this documentary is certainly worthwhile: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105764/
