Thread: GoDaddy email - Unable to connect to smtp server with Outlook

I have my email configured to go to smtpout.secureserver.net, port 465 using SSL. Outlook Send/Receive says: Task 'Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' Sometimes it says this: Task 'Sending' ...

Try to increase the timeout of your Outlook or try to change SMTP port to 587

I had the same problem, changed the outgoing port to 3535, and it works fine now. From your list of email accounts, select an email account and Change, More Settings, Advanced tab, and change the outgoing server port number from 25 to 3535. This must be done for each account that uses the godaddy server. Note that if this change does not fix your problem, change the outgoing port back to 25 ...

I know some places 2525 works... 25 is blocked from sending by most companies.... Maybe someone else will ping in with other ideas....

I had the same problem, changed the outgoing port to 3535, and it works fine now. From your list of email accounts, select an email account and Change, More Settings, Advanced tab, and change the outgoing server port number from 25 to 3535. This must be done for each account that uses the godaddy server. Note that if this change does not fix your problem, change the outgoing port back to 25 before trying other solutions.
