Thread: Gmail in Mail -> multiple 'From:' addresses (incl. Hotmail)

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by JaZzMaN251
Hi, I linked my hotmail account to my gmail account. Now all mails are coming to my gmail account. A big advantage is that I can also send mails 'from' my hotmail account in the gmail account, at least online... (gmail.com) I want to be able to send mails in Mail that have hotmail in the 'from:' field. I found this on the gmail.com help site: Quote:...

If you're forwarding hotmail messages to a GMail account, you won't be able to send mail "from" your hotmail account from Apple Mail.

I use the POP function in gmail to get my hotmail mails, I don't forward them. Maybe this explains what I'd like to do better. http://www.creativetechs.com/iq/use_multiple_email _aliases_in_apple_mail.html The only thing is, gmail appears not to accept the hotmail address in Mail, although from the gmail webmail it does.

Solved: I changed the SMTP server to smtp.gmail.com:mymail@gmail.com Then it worked fine.
