My father\'s been eyeing a couple types of Glashutte watches and is finally considering getting one since RowNine is having a sale. How do they hold up against other luxury watches like Omega? I know they use their own movements and how accurate is it or whats its quality like compared to ETA movements?

I agree with Mike. Apples and Oranges. My personal opinion is that the GO are many tiers above Omega. Take a look at these videos. They explain a lot. The craftsmanship that goes into a Glashutte watch is amazing. The asking price, I believe, is justified in Glashutte\'s case. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe3430fhIhE
GO is a top tier manufacturer. By this I mean they do all their own movements in house and are capable of designing and building the most complicated movements and finishing those movements to the highest standards.
I rate GO superior to Omega. Imho you can`t compare ETA and GO movements (you know...apples....and...pears). They are very accurate. MY GO 39 is still running within COSC specs after years.

I believe they are a tier above Omega. The fit and finish is impeccable, the bracelet on my Sport Evo is the best bracelet I own or have ever worn and that goes for my JLC.

I would get the Panorama Date, no question for me personally. You gain something but lose something too with a chronograph, some elegance, and pure form/function (unless you really need a chronograph function at the dinner table ). I love the idea of the caliber 100 setting function, a complication that\'s useful! Both are great though, two very fine choices.. There does seem to be a fair ...
Is a chronograph too busy to use as a dress watch? He\'s debating between and Price wise its about a $400 dollar difference from $7,505.00 to $7,975.00. Are these even good prices for theses watches or are there better deals out there?

Times are tough for the ADs (pretty much all brands) and its a buyers market for us. You can get grey market pricing on a new watch from GO at an AD. Look to the usual grey market sites and you will find that is going to be about the lowest price you can get at the AD without knowing someone, being a good customer or whatever.

Guess that would be with almost every brand!

I too believe GO is several rungs up a ladder from Omega. The cost of GO is pretty high. But it is still a fantastic value. With a brand like GO, I\'d go used. That Chrono would be a great dress watch imo. But their date window is my all time favorite. GO is my ultimate grail watch. You cannot go wrong.
