Even the race for FDRs second term was a tight one and he was wildly popular. What??? In the 1932 election, 23 million people, or 58% voted for FDR and he won 472 electoral votes. In 1936, 28 million voted for FDR, 67%, and he won 523 electoral votes. In 1940 he won 55%of the vote and in 53% in 1944. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781450.html
