Recently converted to O2 (fairly painless exercise so far) which has given me a TG585v7 to replace my trusty Zyxel P660. It's all branded up O2 and even comes with an idiots guide CD, but I can't help thinking that the UI on the box is intended for people that probably type with one finger and their tongue poking out I think I've managed to get it to forward the right traffic ...

Unfortunately Speedtouch routers do seem to be let down by their really bad GUI. You either need to use templates to change things - or as you've found, the CLI. I can recommend RouterStats - this can give you access to some useful bits ------------------------------------------- Freeola[EntaNet] Faraday IPSC node Hmmm... Hmm. Interesting reference material, thanks. Still no closer in getting the syslog working properly though. Unless I do it manually *yawn* Any other thoughts? G

I had a tinker with the routerstats a while back, and was quite impressed despite it not working too well with my zyxel. I'll be playing with it again though as this new hardware appears to be better supported. G

I may well switch back to it, but i want to be sure it's because the Thomson is not as good, as opposed to it's as good but I can't work it.. G

There is no way to do this - you have to do it manually via CLI Applies to the 780WL, but is the same for the 585v7 http://www.adsl2forum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7987& hi... You could of course do a telnet script and schedule it Be* Unlimited
