George Potter Tew married Harriet, daughter of Hezekiah Willard, a Providence jeweler. Her brother Alfred, also a jeweler, married Edna, daughter of Edwin Field, who was, to no one's surprise, a jeweler in Providence.

Edwin Field & Co man'rs watch-cases 43 Canal were listed in the 1854-5 Providence Directory. Gridley Burnham, Simeon Lewis, Richard S Spencer, John W Chambers, Rich'd W Brown and John R Proud were listed as watch-case makers at 43 Canal in the 1854-5 Providence Directory.
