Thread: Gentle Moisturizer Needed

Started 1 month, 4 weeks ago by Sherrie08
I am having a bad flare of eczema and everything I put on my skin seems to bother me. I am looking for a good, gentle moisturizer to help with my dry skin but not further aggrevate it. Any recomendations for a good basic moisturizer with no actives (such as retinols) in it? Thanks!

You might want to try Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion -fragrance free. Whenever my skin is "acting up" or just irritated from the environment, a product, etc., I reach for this lotion & it hydrates & calms my skin.

I'd recommend Desert Essence Moisturizer. I get mine from Vitacost and it is so inexpensive you wouldn't believe. About $4 for 4 oz. It is my "go to" moisturizer. -- God Bless Us Everyone!

That would be Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer. It has been around for decades and is the most soothing moisturizer out there that I know of.

I think CeraVe lotion is pretty gentle. It also comes in a cream.

I also have liked Ponds Dry Skin Cream when my skin is really angry.

Kiehl's ultra facial moisturizer for all skin types and their thicker Abyssine Cream for night. I also have eczema and these are both comforting to my skin. I also love Cetaphil

Whenever my son has eczema flair ups I use Aquafor on his skin. It works wonders. A little greasy - kind of like vaseline upon application but by morning his flair up is greatly reduced and his skin moisturized. One of the only things that seems to help. -- "We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand." - Randy Pausch support Pancreatic Cancer research

Kate Somerville makes goat milk cream for sensitive skin. I use it in the AM and haven't had any problems with it.
