Thread: GI Joe questions

Started 4 months, 1 week ago by chrisgiff
i am pretty new to the GI Joe comics world. I have pretty much only read the World War 3 story line. I thought that was pretty damn good. My question is what "classics" should i check out? Are all the collected Larry Hama trades worth checking out? I am really intersted in Cobra Commander's origin story. Was it ever told in the Hama books? thanks!

Check out G.I. Joe: Origins #'s 1-5 by Larry Hama. It's the new IDW origin of the Joe team and it's fantastic! The issues are fairly recent and should be easily found in back issue bins. Heck, get ALL of the IDW G.I. Joe comics. They're great!

CLASSIC GI JOE Volumes 1 - 5 contain the first 50 issues of the Marvel series. Apparently IDW is either stopping at Vol. 5 (not quite out yet) or putting them on hold while they work on refurbishing the original prints for #51 and beyond. There have been several BEST OF (and WORST OF, for the villains) TPBs released - for Hawk, Duke, Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, Destro and Snake Eyes (and ...

G.I. Joe editor Andy Schmidt has publicly stated that the G.I. Joe reprints will continue from volume 6, onward. And YES, they will be re-colored.

Yea, I'm really confused b/c just a couple months ago I posted on these boards (and the IDW boards) asking if this Classic GI Joe series was going to continue and as I remember it I was told that it would not but now I'm seeing comments referring to Vol. 7 already, so does anybody have any more details about whether this series will continue through the end of the original run or not?
