Hello,
I am a new owner of an Australian Shepherd and looking for some advice.
She seems to have some sort of intestinal problem that makes her feel like she has to poop all the time, even though she doesn't. This has been going on for weeks. Along with it has been some diarrhea.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or have any idea of what it could be?
Thanks!
Not yet, she doesn't seem to be suffering at all. Plenty of energy, sleeping well, etc. Just tries to poop every time she goes out, and doesn't always have to.
She needs to see a vet. Even if everything else is normal, this is not, and thus she needs to be seen. It doesn't sound like the symptoms of anything serious, so if you're worried about affording it it probably won't be real expensive. There are ways to work with limited finances, either way.
You can google her symptoms to see if they match any illnesses, but you really need to make an ...
Although I answered on your other thread as well... I wanted to add one more comment here.
My pups seem to go through a stage where they simply can't stop moving long enough to finish going potty, and so have to keep stopping, or keep straining... just a thought... but a fecal test done at your vet as well as maybe an X-ray to check for possible partial intestinal blockage would be a very ...
Welcome to Global Paw! The title of this thread had me thinking you yourself were an Australian, like me. LOL Congrats on your new pup and good luck with her health problems. I agree with the others, she should see a vet asap, just to be sure.
Cass.
Hi. Welcome aboard. I do hope your puppy doesn't have anything serious going on, but yes, I agree with the others about seeing a Vet. to be on the safe side. Hope you post some pictures of your baby soon.
Thanks for all the input. I'll be taking her in to see what I can figure out with the vet.
So far I'm a big fan of global paw, what a great community of dog lovers!

I owned an Australian Shepherd and could be a symptom of a tick. Check carefully, even in their mouth along gums and behind back teeth. I lost mine and was heartbroken as we couldn't find the tick nor could the vet, it was behind a back tooth. Check ears too. The symptoms are similar to your description.
