I think it's a given that it's Japan only since the official US site refers to the game as Nier, not Nier Gestalt. As long as we get Keane I don't care how stupid looking the main character is.

Well...as far as I've heard, Replicant features the main character at a younger age and he is trying to save his sister. In Gestalt, he is much older and trying to save his daughter.

These japanese gaming companies have really crossed the line. Do they not understand westerners at all ? I guess they think we all play Halo 3 and dont want to spend more than 10 hours on a game, and that we like playing with beefed up comandos. They are gonna give us a watered down version of Nier. One where we play as some stupid looking old, muscular man. The obviously superior Nier Replicant has a cool looking main character, and is...

God, this is from the Drakengard developers? My interest level just plummeted. Both of those games were awful. On the plus side, we need more games with incest as a principal plot element.

^Er, no, there isn't. But there was one sibling's love for another. And we all know how THAT turned out... Anyway, even if this was Drakengard all over again, that would be awesome. And Drakengard is awesome. And if you disagree, you aren't awesome. So there. In all seriousness, it was stated by some SE exec around E3 that Nier will not have RPG elements. Which means Nier won't resemble Drakengard in terms of gameplay....
