Thread: Fully accessorized AR for $500?

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by RAPTORAZ
It can be done. Well, almost. It's not a true AR, and I have more like $525 in it. But, I'm loving this gun more and more every time I shoot it. I have about 1500 rounds through it with only a handfull of FTF's. S&W M&P15-22 from Cabellas = $440 Tasco Red Dot Sight from Wally Word = $30 Folding forend grip from Centerfire = $20 Tactical Flashlight from local gun store = $15 ...

Nice looking gun. I have been kicking around the idea of getting one of those myself.

they are nice but if you already have the regular ar upper just buy the 22lr bolt or 22 upper. then you have two guns in one.

good point.

Not a bad price to pay to get your daughter to shoot. Just an observation: maybe if the foregrip wasn't so far forward, your daughter could support the gun better and not have to lean back.

^ My sister much older, but still weak and puny , is able to support the gun much better when she moves her support hand near the center of gravity-around the mag well, or just a bit forward of it. A foregrip too forward and she is always fighting the weight of the gun, and has to lean back to counter.

"Especially when there isn't a huge price difference between a conversion and a complete S&W15-22." This makes like twice I've heard this in the last week or two. I don't know how anyone can say a 22 conversion bolt and 26 round magazine for $150 is about as much as a whole ($450) rifle. That's like a quarter of the cost To each their own I suppose.
