Thread: Front end shaking while breaking - Topix

Started 10 months, 1 week ago by Jennie Mancell
I have a 2006 and mine does it to and the front end also pops and when I bake up it like I'm running over ridges when I turn sharp backing up. The igition is also sticking when it starts. I think its junk and wish I never bought it.

I am experiencing this for the first time on my van. I bought it new in 05 and it has just over 100,000 miles on it, for the most part it has been a good van. I replaced the brakes first at 50k and had the rotors turned, now I replaced them again and I got the vibration. BTW, I replaced the pads myself and it took about 30 minutes (no special tools nedded), and midas brakes said the rotors just ...

Yes I had the same problems. The roters were all worped. 3rd set of braked in under 3 years. Got new brakes less than a week ago and now ABS went. willneverbuyanotherchevy wrote: I have an '06 uplander and I am having a problem with breaking. Had the same probs on my 2005. Aside from the pad and rotors not lasting very long the vibration was ultimately caused by the brake caliper sticking. this caused the brakes to overheat and therefore the vibration. Even the dealer was surprised that the caliper went bad with only 60k on the vehicles.

You have warped rotors. Have them turned or replace them.

Another reason the brake rotors get warped, is Over Torquing the wheels when they are put on. You should only use an air gun on a very low power setting,, then Hand Torque them to the proper spec.

It's your brake rotors, they are warped. Not all rotors are the same maybe the place that did your brakes put a low quality rotor on your vehicle.
