I opened my newspaper (the Lansing State Journal) this morning and what jumps out of the FRONT PAGE and smacks me in the face?
The news article is here: clicky
Apparently a local woman is the host of a site called rrsux.com that spews hate at the RaeRae.
I'm not a RR fan and she annoys me, but I don't seethe with hate for her so I'm not endorsing or ...
I like the reader comments, this one in specific (my responses intermixed):
Quote: Is Lansing so boring that you need to publish stuff like this?
(yes - the real excitement won't start until March Madness, then keep an eye on your couch)
Is this even news?
(no)
There are probably white supremest groups in Lansing, are you going to ...
Wow. I, too, can't stand seeing Rayray on just about every product that exists, and her little rodent-like giggle makes my eyes burn. However ...these people are hard-core with their hatred! I went to the website and could feel the karma in my office change to an ugly, dirt-brown color. I wish I had some Holy Water.
I agreed more with most of the readers' comments, too. RR's cooking is "unhealthy" but Misty (Misty?) is a fan of Paula Dean? What kind of logic is that? I love Paula Dean, too, but no way are her recipes healthier than Rachel Ray's. This Misty person is simply annoyed by her ubiquitous presence, which I do agree is over the top. I felt that way about Madonna about a dozen years ago. She ...
Funny example from the site:

Hee hee hee!
As one of the commenters at the bottom of the article pointed out...
Quote: Amid that commotion, Lane argues, Ray is offering recipes drenched in calories and cholesterol.
Quote: (Lane is) a Food Network fan who loves Paula Deen .
(emphasis mine)
The hate-lady needs a hobby.
On a side-note--...

Okay, which one of us posted this comment?
Quote: As far as Food Network stars go, I'm more of an Alton Brown fan. He actually teaches you something about cooking instead of only performing a recipe.
I actually like RaeRay -- in small doses. HOWEVER.....
I went to the store to buy my favorite crackers (Red Oval brand from Canada), I have been eating them for twenty years now, and there was RaeRay's face plastered on the box.
I actually did feel intruded upon.
andrewssue wrote: As tired as I am of the grinning idiot, is this really Front Page news? Have you ever BEEN to Lansing? Not much happenin here. Only the picture and the teaser was front page (although it was above the banner above the fold). THe article was the cover of the 'Living' section

<<----- Lived in Lansing, worked in Mason. Other than politics, nothing really news worthy in Lansing. College student antics are not considered front page-ish enough. That stuff ends up in the lifestyle pages.
