Last month Queensland Road Rules changed to now disallow the use of front fog lights in clear weather conditions. The rule used to only refer to rear fog lights but has now been amended to include front fog lights as well. As most European cars seem to have front fog lights fitted I thought I would put the question out there:
Do you find front fog lights from oncoming cars a ...
Victorians are allowed to use them in 'adverse conditions.' Only problem is there isn't a definition for what constitutes 'adverse conditions.'
There are a lot of different fog lights though. Some big ones on earlier WRXs can be quite distracting, whilst others aren't at all.
There is the same law now in SA. Ive heard about a lot of people being pulled over and fined for having them on to. Personally I have no isssue with them, I have much more problem with lights from 4WD reflecting off my rear view mirror into my eyes at night..

Agreed with all above...
I visited BMW's engineering centre years ago and there they had a lab where the headlights were tested. Was a black room, entirely black and they had a horizontal line about 1m up which hooked up about 30 degrees out towards the right.
The idea was the beam of light should not penetrate above the line at all so as not to dazzle other drivers.
They had a number of racks of headlight ...
I must say I hate being dazzled by, in particular, 4WD's with a million lights in well-lit areas on a clear night. It's totally unnecessary and just plain rude to other drivers. Not to mention dangerous when you can't see what is ahead until they have passed.
I think poor general lighting, being in an area where it is important to see right to the sides of the road (to see animals jumping in ...
Hmmm I got 15% tints all around because of my car being low and having 4wd's often tailgating me for some reason blinding me from behind.
Personally I dont have a thing against foggies, but its those 4wd's or the aftermarket HID lights that arent aimed properly that are annoying!
Another step in bringing all road laws and rules to 1 standard across Australia.
YES people that drive around with their fog lights be they front or rear ON on a perfectly clear evening or night is bloody annoying.

There's a particular model of bomadore, VZ, VY or something that has front lights which don't comply, they drive me 'k'n insane, you can't see anything else when one of them is either coming towards you or in your mirrors. And FWD's that blast right into the back window. Apart from that if they're properly fitted and adjusted there's no drama. Problem is the number that are properly fitted ...

BobZ Yeah i suppose. I dont actually have them lol so i never have mine on. I think its probably one of those laws that just dosnt take into account real circumstances. The driving lights on...

How would they know the difference between factory fitted fog lights and aftermarket/retro fitted driving lights? Fog lights...
