Thread: Freshman considering a transfer out of NYU

Started 1 month ago by The212Kid
Background info: I am a current freshman at NYU debating whether it was the right choice. I am considering a transfer, although I don't know where quite yet. Reasons for transferring: -NYU is huge. I meet people and then not see them again for three weeks. I find myself eating meals alone a lot, as my floor is not social and I rarely see people I know in the dining halls. -No campus....

Of course, I know there's no definite way to determine whether or not I'll be accepted, but I feel that hearing from actual NYU students would help give me a idea at least. (Oh, and I'm not sure how much it matters, but I'm from San Diego, California.) Stats: Weighted GPA: 4.7 (currently but will be raised because I'm taking 3 more AP classes this year) Currently ranked number 8 in ...

What school are you applying to?

Eiffel replied 3 months, 1 week ago

Does anyone know when the indoor tennis courts at Coles close for the year? I read on their website that the rooftop courts aren't open this year but I couldn't find any information regarding the indoor courts. On a related note, does anyone know of another good place to play that's closer than the courts at Central Park?

well. . . considering you applied early decision. . . you're legally required to withdraw all of your other applications. the acceptance is conditional upon maintaining anything above a C average, not failing any classes, and graduating high school. (in other words, don't burn all of your notebooks, you need to pass. :-P )

Okay, so I would feel like an absolute doucche (misspelled to avoid it being ******) for starting this before peopleet their letters, but I imagine you guys are all at school and I would hope you'd check your mail before coming to this site and would know by now whether or not you are in. Where you're from is important but its not the most important thing, especially since this isn't a state school. Its early decision, they don't have to worry toooooo much about size at this point. They either want you or they don't. But jeez I am so sick of waiting

i would say you are a great fit for steinhardt. and not to be rude or anything but being a Hispanic mail definitely helps since you are an underrepresented minority. however i remembering reading somewhere, actually on the official NYU forum that the admissions official said the ... in fact here: "The Nutrition and Food Studies program is relatively small and highly selective. Approximately 25 students will enroll each year."...
