Thread: Forum not as active? Answer the Poll, please!

Started 2 months ago by newhomebuilder
I have not been as active with posting because of my daughters wedding (thank goodness that is over! lol) and had been away for about a month. Once back, I have noticed that the postings have slowed down considerably. Any opinions? Does it have to do with the economy? I would also like to do a poll of sorts (wish this website had that capability)to see how old current members/posters are, ...

I think they've been buzzing pretty good. I did notice sometimes over the weekends it seems slower. I'm a 26 year old female. I found the kitchen forum first and sadly, too late. Started posting Nov. 2007.

I'm here today, lurking as usual. I don't usually post, just try to learn. I'm 51, female, started lurking about a year ago, just trying to tweak my decorating skills and see if I could improve on my family room's appearance. (It's an odd shape, has hand-me-down furniture, and was painted a bad color.) I've since painted and rearranged and am satisfied if not completely happy. :) I think ...

I'm a GW old-timer, having joined in 2005 on Kitchens. I'm 48, female, and re-building the entire house...

I'm not sure if this board has been more or less active lately, but it seems to me that some of the regular posters from a couple years back aren't around anymore. Anyway, I'm a 30 year-old female and lurked for a while before registering in September of 2006. In April of 2006 my husband and I bought a fixer-upper and I originally came here looking for kitchen ideas. So glad I found this ...

ok, I'll play; I'm 25 and male; oops no that's not me. (although I used to be mistaken for a male, because of the name mitch that doesn't happen anymore) 57 years old , yeah, old timer, joined in 1999 although it says 2002 in my profile. It still is such fun to be here; I've been through all the trials and tribulations, changes in the forums, etc... why am I still here ?...

I've been a GW follower since 2001, more of a lurker than a poster. 53 and Female. I initially came here a few years after building our home in '96. Prior to building I bet I'd never stepped in more than a dozen new homes. How naive I was. The internet has opened my eyes! I find painting therapeutic and enjoy seeing the pictures everyone posts. We live in a rural area so homes are much more ...

I'm 48, female. I joined almost 3 years ago (12/06). I don't think things really slowed down till the last few weeks. I just attribute it to *real life getting in the way*. It's that time of year where people have lots going on. Kids are back in school, so more sports and extra-curricular activities. Holidays are just around the corner and people are gearing up for that. I think there are ...

sweeby, I keep meaning to pick your brain about your gorgeous baths with the Esmer classic tiles... but for me, I'm female, closing in on 39, restoring an 1888 storefront; however, I found GW back in 2005 when I was renovating my kitchen for $5K using IKEA and smart shopping. I went over budget by $800, but I learned a lot. I'm not as full of questions mainly because I find the search ...

49yo,2001. I stared on the garden forum trading plants, then did a kitchen remodel/update & found the kitchen forum. Now I'm redecorating around the new couch I purchased and also updating the master bedroom. I added two wingback chairs. Trying for a more traditional look. Something more timeless, less matchy matchy, but coordinated and comfortable. I just came back from a vacation. Trying...

Hi, I'm Jean and I'm a HD forum addict. I stumbled upon the GW in 2008 while researching for my Hilton Head Island renovation (hence my ID: hhireno). I found kitchens & baths forums first and then, eventually, the home decor forum. I am a 50 yo female who has learned a tremendous amount here but has hardly put any of it into practice. I also thought the forum had slowed down but maybe it...

monicakm - Thank you for enlightening me on MS. I should know better. Wish you all the best! lyban - I do not currently have matching wing chairs on either side of my fireplace. Did in the previous home and they were yellow/gold with red, green, salmon flowers. I posted photos of that room several time on this board. If that's what you are talking about, then it is me. :) The chairs are in my current living room and are on either side of...

Monica, I have MS. We can share stories. I am doing fine. Lynn, I have no cognitive abilities remaining, so I will not have a decline. ;-) TTodd, I have hydrangeas but they are fine. They are so big, maybe I need to cut them back or divide them someday. I had 500+ roses, but we have gotten down to about 200 now. It was just too much in my physical state and that of my DH. He had 3 strokes and 2 heart attacks, and there I am, not a darn bit of...

Patricia!!!!!! Oh no! I'm not sure exactly how long I spent on the Antique Garden Roses forum. That was when I finally decided to just do it and plant some then see what happens. I knew I wanted antiques for their hardiness and my lack of rose knowledge. Somehow I found my way to DA roses and my FIL supplied me w/ a rose bush for Christmas for quite a few yrs. I sort of stopped posting over there simply because I don't pay attention...

Just checked back in and saw there are 127 responses. And that helps to validate what I've always thought--that there are a hundred times as many readers as posters. I got my Picturetrail hits page in email today and the 4 pictures they include in the email had almost 400 views each. At least two of those shots are Pure Yawners...nothing pretty, just something I put in a thread in answer to a question someone had. So that shows there are...
