No worries Chunterer, we also own the last B&H Sierra they built in 1990. Tony Longhurst and Alan Jones's did some crazy times in it during practice/ qualifying at the 1990 Bathurst (Both did 2.13.84's!). It was then sold to Gold Coast based Bolwell Racing and raced # 43 at Bathurst 1991 (DNF). It was log booked 1/8/1990 and only raced about 10-11 times in total. Last raced at Lakeside in either ...
Further to William's DJR info, I believe,
DJR4 was the car used at the 90 Eastern Creek 500 (not DJR6).
DJR6 was raced at Bathurst in 90 by Johnson & Bowe.
In 91 Johnson raced DJR5 throughout the ATCC, Bowe starting the year in DJR6 while DJR4 was rebuilt.
My understanding of the history of the other Sierras that raced in Australia. Those chassis numbers with an asterix (*) are not actual numbers, just numbers I have applied as a way of identifying each car.
Miedecke Motorsport
At the end of 1986 Don Smith set up a new team. Smith had been appointed a Ford Motorsport dealer and many of the Australian Sierras would be built from ...
Caltex CXT Racing
Since the beginning of Group A in Australia, Colin Bond had raced Alfa Romeos initially the GTV and in 1987 the 75. With Alfa pulling out of motor racing, he decided to go down the Sierra route leasing a car from John Giddings for the 1988 ATCC.
CXT1*
Debuted at the Oran Park 250 with Alan Jones co driving as #4. Bond raced this car until the end ...
Love your work Anthony!
I'm sure Tony told us they only ever had 4 Sierra's, but I will ask the question again. Sorry to be misleading, the Sierra's are all owned by David Bowden.
Cheers, Chris.
Nice stuff, anthony81901! Just a couple of things:

The Barry Naismith 1988 Bathurst annual has Miedecke's car as new at the beginning of the year, with Bagnall having the car built for Bathurst 87, while The Great Race has them the other way around. Miedecke was operating on a fairly tight budget, so it would have made sense for the new car to go to Bagnall. So if the Miedecke Motorsport car was not used by the Mobil team, presumably the Noske car was Brad Jones 1989 ATCC car, that Barry...

There definitely must have been five Longhurst Sierras, because there were three cars present at Bathurst in '89, the two race cars plus a T-car. One was the car built by the Longhurst team in late 1988, the other two the ex-Paxton cars. Throw in the Bathurst '88-winner, and that late '90-build car, and there were five. I thought I'd posted the article I'd found in Auto Action on Longhurst purchasing the two cars, but...
Had the honour of being on the track with the ex Damon Hill Sierra at Lakeside this weekend, along with watching DJR#6 getting a real good workout in the demo's. Woo-Hoo!! All the whooshing, popping and flame-blowing had me in a lather
