Epson has consumer models that will do it and they come with the software to layout the graphics properly.

That's great...many thanks! Anybody have experience with Canon printers and if they also provide software?

I second the Epson printers. I have the Epson Stylus R280 printer and I print photos & text onto CDs/DVDs. The software that comes with it is easy to use.

I use a Canon Pixma 4000. Better resolution than Epson and the consumables (ink) are nowhere near as much of a rip off.

This is great guys...does anyone have any experience with the Canon Pixma CD/ DVD printing and software?

I have printed hundreds of dvds using my epson u320 and the only problem i came across was that the tray/rollers wouldn't always grip when initially pulling it in and i'd have to help it along. overall though, it was well worth the $250 ish bucks. I have no experience with any other brands. sorry.

+8 for Epson. I've printed many CD/DVD's with the special coating with my Epson printer. The only complaint I have is the big hole in the middle that takes away from the image....... ;-)

i've got a pixma some thing that does DVDs and CDs its fair good the software is a bit windows '98 ish but it lets you put photos and text on to a disk. or you could make it in another package and just drop a image file in thats what I do most of the time

Many thanks for all your guidance guys! I will look into an Epson/Canon i have narrowed this down to Epson px700 or Canon Pixma 4700. Both do CD/DVDs and both print up to A4 photo prints.......
