Do you guys remember in School (if you went to one) making a paper spring type thing that would hang over a heater and then turn because heat rises? Then on that note do you remember the distortions that the heat made. You know when you look at a road that’s out in the sun and it starts to quiver with this heat distortion. Has anyone captured this or is it even possible to ...

Ooh, that's a good one, it rained heavily the other night, on a really hot road and it produced some great heat vapour, but it was too late and too dark to capture it - good idea.....it's been so hot, I'm going to look out for it......

I'll keep an eye out for it!!! But I have a feeling that it will end up just being out of focus and misty as the photo won't capture the movement that our eyes notice.

i tried to capture heat distortion on this car roof, if you view it in large you can just make out the distortion. not very impressive i know, but if the distortion were larger i'm sure it could be captured pretty well as it is only light being bent by the heat.

wow! i hate that stuff in my photos! u r so lucky u aren't into aviation photography! I have gotten photos rejected from airliners.net due to heat haze! i hate it! i'll get a picture of it whenever i go plane spotting... i hate it...

I'll keep an eye out for it!!! But I have a feeling that it will end up just being out of focus and misty as the photo won't capture the movement that our eyes notice.

i tried to capture heat distortion on this car roof, if you view it in large you can just make out the distortion. not very impressive i know, but if the distortion were larger i'm sure it could be captured pretty well as it is only light being bent by the heat.
