Thread: Flex time PDI jobs

Started 4 months ago by Anonymous
I have applied for two flex time positions recently. I am a retired pharma rep. who wants some part time work. I have a nice resume with demonstrated sales performance. I have not gotten any communication from PDI or whoever the recruiter is, not even a rejection letter. Can anyone tell me if they are adverse to hiring old guys or those with more than a few years experience? Thanks.

Possibly those were "surge" positions for tamiflu contract (temporary work, layoffs generally in spring when the contract expires.) It is assumed that there is a need for more hires, but sometimes certain territories have less calls then anticipated. Natch, the DMs prefer to try to absorb the calls through increase call loads for existing sales force if at all possible. If you really are ...

If you are truly interested in a job with PDI shared be sure to accent the fact that you are an "airhead", lack a 4-year degree, lack most life skills, collect sigs all day and are willing to drive around without reimbursement. That's the perfect candidate scenario. If you can answer YES to ALL of the foregoing requirements please apply . . . . . we need you! PDI HR

Come on guys, we just want to know about the flex time jobs....that's all. I know things are negative out there. But just answer the questions. What are the products? What's the compensation?

I have heard that one of the flex jobs is a GSK contract, perhaps Treximet. Can anyone confirm? Thanks to the first poster who referenced the "surge" positions. That may be the original job I applied for since it was posted around Aug-Sept.

The flex position pays per signature (as opposed to a contracted dedicated team) at a rate of around $20.00 per call. Gas reimburse is a small stipend of $275. per month (taxed) and an additional .15 per mile. If you are interested in flex, consider yourself warned. This is no picnic.

.15 cents per mile? How big are the territories? .15 per mile is awful if the terr. is of any size. Is this negotiable?

It depends upon your DM. A beaver shot during ride-withs has done wonders for me as far as extra reimbursement for mileage. Most male shared DM's like that leg lift from time to time, exposing the natural bush. Anne

Territories unmanageable and also geography a moving target. Now you know why DMs are hesitant to hire. It's harder than it ...

unless you are starving, don't bother. Most drive more miles than a dedicated rep or full time bp rep. some are driving hundreds of miles and into other states. at 15cents a mile you are really getting screwed mileage wise but the company thinks it fair. Go figure that one. Those of us paying for parking are really getting hit in the wallet. Most of us are job hunting and praying for ...
