Another flat battery problem. I have had a flat battery twice in the last two weeks which is a bit disappointing in a 9 month old car. The only thing I need to ask about before I take it into MB to check it out under warranty is the fact that I have a TomTom hard wired to a permanent live, (Halfords job). This has been in for seven months and plugged in most of the time ...
Why on earth would you need a permanent live feed to your TOMTOM?
Surely Halfrauds should have plumbed this into a switched feed?
If it is this causing the problem, I'd be chasing them for any repair costs incurred.

Yes Dave. I questioned them at the time and they said they did a lot like that and there was no problem. However there has been no problem for six months and the TomTom has been connected for probably 70% of the time, even when left in the garage over a couple of days. Alan

Thought i had better share my views on the outcome of my battery problems. I popped it in to my local MB dealer to explain the problem. They checked the battery and said it was OK. They were suspicious of the TomTom wiring, saying it could be shorting out, even though it had been perfectly OK for 6 months. The first booking they could give me with a courtesy car was 3 weeks which I didn't think ...
i wonder, are you confident that the fault has been remedied? i suppose you will be, in time. you start off by suggesting you will share your views, but are waiting for ours, so here is my tuppence worth...
battery drain/failure/charging faults are often very hard to pinpoint. i can understand them failing to sort it with the first hit, and do hope they have it right this time. i think if ...
While I have your attention Malcolm. Which wire should I tap to reconnect the TomTom? Looking at right side fuse box adjacent to ignition switch. I am told that the dealers have been instructed by MB not to hard wire sat navs. May be something to do with the fact that they are keen to sell you an inferior product for 20 times the price of a TomTom.
