Thread: Fixing Slot-1 and Left Shoulder Button.

So tomorrow I have a choice of paying $40 to get my Slot-1 fixed or doing it myself. I don't feel inclined to get it repaired at the shop because I feel I'm overpaying for something so minor. The problem with my Slot-1 is that 3 of those yellow prongs are bent out of place. This happened when I accidentally forced in a DS cartridge causing those prongs to be bent crooked when they are suppose ...

the "repair" shop would probably open up the DS, then replace the whole slot with one from a broken DS. so yes, you will probably need to get it repaired its unlikely you can just bend them back

Try wrapping your mouth around the left shoulder button, then blowing hard. It usually works.

AppleHero said: Try wrapping your mouth around the left shoulder button, then blowing hard. It usually works. Yep, that's how I fix mine temporarily. You can also buy a Nintendo screwdriver off the net for around $3 or $5 and clean the sensor in the bumper, or move around the little cloth inside.

You might be able to fix the prongs with a dental scraper or sculpting tool. You can usually buy them at pharmacies or hobby shops. Dont bother buying a nintendo screwdriver unless you're confident in your repairing abilities.

the "repair" shop would probably open up the DS, then replace the whole slot with one from a broken DS. so yes, you will probably need to get it repaired its unlikely you can just bend them back
