Thread: First time shooting a fully automatic rifle!
Started 3 years, 2 months ago by F-16 CHIEF
Very nice guy at the range had a AR with a 9mm upper and a silencer. He had
a registered sear and a aimpoint mounted on it. He asked if I wanted to
shoot it and of course the answer is YES! What a soft shooting sweet
weapon! I tried not to act like a child and dump the whole mag, but it was
tempting. Very easy to do 3 round bursts with it. It almost felt like a
video game. It was so easy to shoot...
I remember my first time. Same senario at the range but with a converted
Ruger mini 14. I've been fortunate enough to try some others sence then.
Sure wish we could get an amnisty period for full auto. Would really bring
the prices back down. Oh to dream. . . .
My cousin pulled strings and let me fired local PD M-16A1 (Awesome) and an
MP-5 (which was cool too) I fell in love with the M-16 and as soon as I
have the cash I'm gonna buy one.
im friends with a local dealer who does class 3 sales.he let me shoot his
full auto cobrays. one in 9 and one in 45. it was kinda dissapointing.
although fun i was thinking i can bump fire a gun as fast as that(or so it
feels like about the same rate). anyway still fun.

You can bump 15 shots per second (in the case of the M11/9)?
Whoa! You da man!
I just ...
Don't you wish qualifying with an M-16 in the Air Force included firing
full auto, or even in the Army for that matter.
My D-I-L fired full auto in the Army when qualifying. She was mildly
reprimanded since she was an officer and a nurse..
I was a range master for my Army Reserve Unit... no full auto fire!
The M16's they were issued were only 3 shot bursts anyways... they would
shoot the standard green plastic pop up targets at various ranges from
concrete fox holes.
I always wondered why they werent allowed to shoot FA... cuz you know that
when the SHTF and they're actually in combat, every one of them is gonna go
burst mode! ...

Why not just the restoration of our second amendment rights. Amnisty period
my ass, the second amendment does not say anything about what kind of arm
you can keep and bear, just that your right to do so shall not be
infringed, and as long as...
I like to dream. So far, our government has failed to keep my favorite arms out of my dreams. Now if I can just find a good landing strip for my A10!!!

And that is not the only one. As for my first full auto, if I remember correctly it was an Uzi, which...

I just sold one, as a matter of fact. not impling that that i can bump at 900 RPM, i was saying that maybe i was expecting to much. plus if the 9mm cobray shoots at that rate the 25 round mags i was shooting should have been emptied in under two seconds. once again i wasnt timing it so im just going off what it "FELT"...
the MP-5 i run 2 mags through it, no bursts just holding the trigger down, hardly any muzzle climb, what sucks is how much the semi clones cost, coharie arms had an ad in the shotgun news for a semi MP-5 for 975 and thats as cheap as i've seen them

I meant that you have shot a full auto if you've qualified on an M16 just not fired it fully automatically Now that the AF has converted all their M16s to A2 they made them...
Actually, in the military...........firing for qualification does not include any full auto fire. Everyone in the military must qualification with their issue weapon at least once a year. Most do, some fake it, and some even fake qualifying without ever firing their weapon. These folks are normally officers and senior NCOs. On the other hand.........special troops get to do special things, including firing full auto with a number of different...
AKnut, I agree with you completely... so, lets say they do allow us civilians to purchase newly manufactured MG's now, great! The problem is, they'll adjust the tax stamp for inflation to something ridiculous like $10,000 and we'll be in the same boat... not only will M16's and HK's continue to be out of the reach for most of us, but now $3000 M11's and $5000 Uzi's will cost an additional $10,000 for the tax...
Once you shoot full auto, everything else is a pales in enjoyment. The next time you shoot your semiauto what-ever, not going to be as satisfying ever again.
I want K'nex! This kid, he's the shits! He's... I want K'nex! This kid, he's the shits! He's mighty-o-awesome! Fully Automatic K'nex Rifle http://hex.io/374 . I wonder what HE got 4 Xmas? 6:42 PM Dec 27th, 2008 from TweetDeck
