Well, it depends on how obsessed you are. Dealer recommendations in Canada is every 6000Km(1mile=1.61km). But for me, I will first change it at 1000km (break in period) then use a synthetic/dino blend for 2000km then switch to full synthetic. Seriously though, you don't have to do that. To maintain warranty just bring it every 4000-5000miles to the dealers.

I had planned on every 3k but I figured the breakin was different.. So the answer is around 600 - 650 miles if I'm calculating right in my head. I'm planning on synthetic also but didn't know you should blend first and then go full. Thanks for mentioning that.

The owners book says every 3750miles for US owners.

For a brand new car, i would do an initial change at 600miles, and another at 1,500, and then what ever is suggested in the manual. if you want synthetic, just use a blend after 1500 and then full synthetic anytime afterwards

Can you get quality Synthetic "Blend" from the local stores like AutoZone or Canadian Tires? IF so, what brand would you recommend? I want to do it myself but I doubt I have the required tools.

mobil 1 is generally one of the better oils, its full synthetic just a heads up, i switched from regular oil to mobil 1, and had problems with the rings sealing. well it was either the oil swap, or the shop that did the work on my head gasket f'd something up, i did both at the same time. this was on a 91 supra turbo though

Edit.

A lot of times when you go to a full synthetic you will burn a little through reverse blow by and small seeping leaks, always watch your fluid levels when you swap over.

Does it say 3750, or 3750 for severe driving? I was under the impression it said 5 or 6k. Sure you can change your oil if you're driving like a bat out of hell every 3k miles.. But I think it's a waste. Only way to tell is get a sample of it and send it off for analysis. Most people that do find out just that.. They didn't need to change it nearly that early. Just do what the owner's manual...

please, for the love of God, DO NOT use Fram filters, they are by far the worst filters out there! OEM is always the way to go!

yes, but i asume this is like a safety measure, some older cars recommend the break-in period for 3k miles.
