Here are some more scriptures that are referenced in that book... Job 23:12 Exodus 34:27-28 1 Samuel 1:7 Acts 9:7-9 2 Chronicles 20:3-4, 13 Mark 1:13 Daniel 10:3 Okay...That's enough for now. I don't know how relevent these scriptures are to fasting, but this guy sure does bring a lot of the bible to make his point.

I was listening to talk radio on a christian channel while driving down the road, and this was the subject. The subject of fasting. It's been quite a while so I can't really reiterate what was said, but I did not forget this. But he said that it was only up until the late 1800's when fasting began to disappear from regular christian lifestyle. That it was sinful to be fat and/or over eat. He ...

There is seldom much activity on this site on sabbath morning. The "faithful" must be doing their shopping or canvassing.

Appetite is a very strong thing. I mean, it's tied to survival. If you don't eat, eventually you die. If we are able to command our appetites, no matter what they are, I think it's a good thing. Who wants to be ruled by an urge? I fast on...

I told them I had nothing but water, they could not ttest me because I had drank water, she told me a fast meant no food or water. My question is a spiritual fast, does that...

Would be the perfect setting if one is doing it for spiritual purposes. My sister says the first few days are just terrible, you feel awful, plus you hunger, but then suddenly all that goes away and it's easy. This is all sounding pretty wonderful! No, it...

I had blood drawn once a month and a physical exam too, just to document any changes. I say that it wasn't spiritual, but in reality, maybe it was. I was...

Why would anyone annouce they are fasting to the world .When we fast it is a personal choice , if we fast as a congregation we as a congregation would know about the fast but people outside of that congregation would not know .I also never heard JW say anything about fasting .I don't know why the poster mentioned but we don't tell people .Why would anyone care ?
