Thread: "Family" Discussion

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by Tkeys
So, I decided to post this because I am hoping to make things better/more open on this board. I hope that this thread becomes an opportunity for us to air some feelings, and maybe heal some hurt feelings and help us remember what this board is about. The Cycle Buddies Board was re-started/re-invigorated a few years ago by a group of us who had been TTC'ing...well, too long. Our ...

I'm not a great person to respond since I already have 2 children, but I would like to throw in my 2 cents. I love the fact that the CB board has been rejuvinated! Back when I was TTC #2, I would board hop until I got my BFP. I was so hard having to say goodbye to people after only 2-3 weeks. Plus, I always felt a little strange when my potential EDD was at the end of the month and the board was ...

Oh no! I had no idea that this board was having problems!!! It meant the WORLD to me when I was TTC #1 w/PCOS 2 years ago...I would hate to see anything happen to it, esp since we're getting ready to TTC #2 here soon! From my own personal experience, I loved seeing pics of babies/kids of other mommies while I posted here---esp if I knew they had had trouble conceiving...it gave me hope!! I'm not ...

Wow, I didn't know this was going on, but as a Grad of CB myself, I've turned into a lurker rather than a poster. I have offered my support in the past, but I've tried to keep my presence here on the DL for not wanting to 'flaunt' my children in front of those still TTC #1. That doesn't mean that I don't stalk you or care how you're doing, because I do. Personally, I thought the grads ...

While I think that some women with primary infertility may see our siggy pics of kids as 'inspirational'...I can see why for some may feel painful in seeing other people's families. I know I struggled when all of my friends had families and I didn't. I have enjoyed CB sooooo much and came here while struggling with secondary IF for #2, with the baggage of almost 4 years of primary IF. I think ...

I'm going to add my two cents here, from a different perspective. I've been lurking here for a few months and repsonded to a few posts here and there. It took me a long time for PPAF to show after having my son and wanted some company while waiting for AF, and on our TTC#3 journey without saying hello and goodbye on DI boards.(I checked out other boards with specific relevance to my ...

I don't have a lot to add here. I think it is really hard for everyone. Those who graduate and those who are still trying. I was one of those people who board hopped from due date club to due date club and it was heartbreaking. To say hello to a group and then say goodbye a few weeks later. I am grateful for this board. Yes there are times when I feel intense jealousy at those on here who ...

In a perfect world, those dealing with IF would be able to be happy and unaffected by those who have gotten their BFP or already have children. But it's not fair to expect that. When I was waiting for my turn, I couldn't help being upset at the signatures with babies in them. This is why I don't have pics in my signature or anything outright celebratory. I also couldn't help being upset when ...

I love CB and it has been the best thing for me in this TTC #2 journey. I wish I would have known about it with #1. Even though I have a DD doesn't mean the journey hasn't been difficult. We had issues TTC her and now we are having even more issues. It sucks! But, that being said, even after my m/c I didn't mind seeing others posts of BFP's or pix of their children. It keeps me ...

I have stopped posting, but still lurk a bit. It is hard for me because the majority of ladies that I began posting with have conceived and had a baby already and I'm still here. That is hard, even though I am happy for them. I had a very hard time with the rollover of new ladies coming in and then leaving. Especially since school has started, I don't have the time to try and keep up. I feel...

I'm sorry to see that there is problems here. I've totally been guilty of not posting much although I lurk all the time. I've had SO much going on and sometimes my laptop goes a whole week without seeing the light of day (haha). I know I learned so much when I was active on the TTC side and celebrated while everyone else got there bfp's! I hope the other ladies can have the same experience I had....

Original message by Bobaloola The pain of IF haunts you through pregnancy and parenthood. I STILL feel as if this can't be real and that at any minute something will happen to take it all way because for YEARS I felt that it would never happen and I didn't deserve it enough. Boards like this are amazing, but heartbreaking. NO ONE should have to suffer through IF and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. But know that just...

Original message by Tkeys If the majority feels that all of us who are graduates and not currently ttc should stop posting, I, too, will step down as host. I'm not sure that is what I am seeing from the comments - I think more responses have been in line with Kerry, but let's put it to a poll. I don't see it either, most comments I seen want and love us being up in the grad area and our support down here! I think a poll would...

Shoot, I didn't mean for my siggy to be in the one post---so sorry, and I don't know how to get rid of it now.

This is my last butting into the conversation here. I have not started a thread since I have been pregnant, but have commented on threads to support my friends still TTC and to give advice as someone who has BTDT with many years of infertility and treatment. I am sorry if this has caused some of you pain or anger. It has never been my goal to hurt anyone or intrude in a place where it was not welcome.

WOW, this thread is all over the place...I have a couple more things to say.... First, I have NO problemo with you lovely ladies having siggies of your beautiful children or baby bumps and tickers. I just would prefer they be turned off on M/C and BFN, or other super emotional posts - as those posts are the most hard to handle. I understand that it is sometimes hard to remember to turn your siggy off, and that is fine - just ask a...

Eve and TKeys... to you! ITA with some of the previous posters...TTC is open to everyone. I agree with Leah with her statement of having changed since I joined this board. I was also one of the "oh, that will be me soon" people; however, I haven't been dealt that card. I know that many of the ladies who already have children have been through YEARS of IF treatments and procedures; I haven't been financially able to...

I want to add for me personally, while it might be hard to see people graduate, I cherish when those graduates come back and give me support. Like Eve and TKeys etc. I need for those of you who've been there and done that to Remember me while I'm still TTC. I need that support. So I love when the graduates reply to my threads. It keeps me going. It makes me feel like I'm remembered and in a way that I'm not being left behind.
