It works amazingly well. They only had the $8 kind, the large size according to PatGear, and it's the perfect size. I did buy the one that was squished a little flatter than the others because I felt like it would hold better on my type...

Re: Fakkares at CVS Drugstore I bought a silver one of these a while back and it does not hold my hair at ALL. It just slides right out. I think mine is a large. It is a shiny silver color. Ficcares hold me hair very well. I assumed it was the lack of teeth that made the fake one not hold. I am glad it works for some of you!

I've never tried a Ficcare, but this cheapie is holding my hair fantastically; I even wore it while I exercised at the gym without it budging. The large one is the perfect size for my hair right now. I'm haven't bought a Ficcare and probably never will (I just can't get my head around paying $50 for a HAIR CLIP), so I love hearing about where to get cheap hairtoys.

I'd guess they are the equvalent of a medium maximus ficarre is size (its smaller than my large ficcarissimo) but have no teeth at all. The gold covering peeled on my soon after I got it.
