Good question. I'm being very much guided by the panel shop. They took everything off the body they felt it needed. The hinges look good, although considering the rust that was under the windscreen hinges it was interesting decision. Everything else was taken off and sent away for a rust cleaning bath and came back gleaming. They are all to be painted seperately probably at the next painting. ...

Wondering why they decided to make that model top

Living in the Past replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago
They have them all the way back to the 1961 FJ40 I wonder if I buy a top if they will let me return it and pay the handling and shipping charges when it doesn't fit my 1962 FJ40 soft top. At a $1,019 then $8.92 each for the twists plus shipping and handleing these aren't cheap. It looks like I got a pretty good deal on that used one for $200. But it did come with the factory bows...

indeed I bought a set of the door seals, even though they are pricey. Thanks guys for bringing them to my attention man... cannot wait till things are painted

I like the beauty rings too, used to run them on my 40 ages ago, doiubt I have pics. Not original though. You should be able to pick up a matching set at a swap meet or junkyard.

All I can say is WOW . That's one sweet looking old cruiser. Next your going to say you got the stock bows and doors too. Missing a generator not a alternator. So I guess you don't need a late bib anymore your going all early FJ40s
