obviously you are missing one of the requirements for that plugin http://wiki.eclipse.org/WTP_FAQ#How_do_I_install_WTP.3F in that page you can see what WTP requires to be installed.... look for the one you don't have in your current instalation and see if it works

I had the same problem when trying to start up eclipse WTP on Fedora 11, I got a small grey window which cannot be closed while starting eclipse by running ./eclipse in terminal. Same behaviour here. If I use a already created workspace, Eclipse starts successfully. If I try to create a new one, eclipse crashes with the stacktrace mentioned by hyjalsoul two posts above. I have exactly the same problem. Use a previously created workspace and Eclipse starts fine but use a workspace generated on F11 and the grey box appears and nothing else other than the errors in the log file.
