Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by chess9
http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/1...WT.mc_ev=cl ick "To their surprise, the researchers found that none of the groups, including the athletes, experienced “afterburn.” They did not use additional body fat on the day when they exercised. In fact, most of the subjects burned slightly less fat over the 24-hour study period when they exercised than when they did not. “The message of ...

I thought everyone knew that diet is more important than exercise when it comes to losing weight. I mean if someone eats 3000 calories per day and drops down to 2000, thats 1000 less calories they are taking in. Thats much easier to accomplish than eating 3000 calories and spending up to 2 hours each day exercising to burn that 1000 calories. The problem with exercise is that it causes ...

Yeah exercise doesn't make me more hungry in fact i usually don't want to eat right after i exercise. But for those who do get more hungry, it all comes down to discipline. if you want to lose weight, then stop eating so much!! i don't mean to be rude, but when i see a 300 lb. person, it grosses me out. To think of how lazy they are and how much food they eat...ugh. i know how much it takes for ...

In a study of swimmers they found that swimmers tended to eat a lot more after a hard workout, which may account for the higher bodyfat of swimmers, in part. (cold water also contributes) We need a lot more research in this area, but IMHO overeating is the biggest cause of the Bad Fatitude in America. Portion size, in particular, is way out of control. -Robert

Any sit down restaurant nowadays serves portions that are double, and sometimes even triple of what a healthy portion size would be today. And so many people eat out so often as well. ...

I'm not 300lbs, but I'm 188lbs right now and ...

Another great source of nutritional information is the American Heart Association http://www.americanheart.org/present...tifier=1200010 It's very reader friendly, and has hundreds of hints and meal planning guides in addition to easy to understand facts about a heart healthy diet.

OK you get to move around at your job but when you consider the number of office workers there are today who sit humped up at their desks they simply don't need 3 squares a day same as if they were building railroads by hand or plowing 40 acres with a team.
