Thread: Euro Diesel Fan and Fan Clutch Questions

Started 1 month, 4 weeks ago by 10AET2
I am in the middle doing a cooling system overhaul, and I am replacing all the weak links in the system with more durable components (ie. aluminum radiator, stewart water pump, etc.). However, I am not doing a fan delete so I am either going to replace the fan and fan clutch with OEM or with the euro diesel fan and fan clutch. The euro fan blades are all connected on the outer diameter so the fan blades will not grenade themselves.

you can use the euro diesel fan with the US fan clutch from what I remember... www.bimmerforums.com in the E36 M3 section. Do a euro diesel fan search over there, I know there are a couple threads with people who actually have them

I put a Euro fan on mine, perfect fit on the fan clutch, it's way sturdier since it's connected on the outer diameter, and it's a bit thinner as well, so it gives you alot of clearance, so It'd be extremely difficult for this one to disintegrate. Just my humble opinion, but it's a way better alternative to the fan delete mod, worth the money.

Just buy the $10 nut that covers the shaft on the water pump and call it a day. The fan and fan clutch are really pretty useless unless you drive in rush hour traffic in Dubai in the summer.
