Thread: Error: not an amanda tape (Permission denied)

I noticed my weekly backup hasn't been successful since 10/27. It runs on Tuesdays. Can someone please help me figure out what the problem is here? It seems like you have a couple of problems. First, it seems you have a tapecycle of only 1 and a runspercycle of only 1. That doesn't give you any redundancy. Second, the Permission denied is a pretty obvious problem. If you check and follow http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/How..._Virtual_Ta pes , you will see that the directory you have your virtual tapes in has to be owned by amanda user and ...

It seems like you have a couple of problems. First, it seems you have a tapecycle of only 1 and a runspercycle of only 1. That doesn't give you any redundancy.
