I've taken this issue down the same roads as most of the folks that have been around for a while and no one seems to have a solution yet. I have PM'd Matthew Rorie and I'm sure he will respond shortly, or as soon as he gets a chance. _________________ Help is good when asked for. Better when needed. Gaming Parents Studios Click Here
I was able to get it to work by copying the 1000_Neverwinter_A1.Z file from an earlier savegame to the most recent savegame. Once I did this it loaded the module and I was able to continue. So for some reason it did not like the "newer" .Z file. I still have the "bad" file if that would help QA at all. Dave
We have some programmers looking into it and hopefully we'll have some ideas soon. Sorry for the delay! _________________ Matthew Rorie Marketing/PR Producer, Obsidian Entertainment
Just to add something. Not sure if it helps. Someone mentioned my Conan Campaign when I happened to look through this post. That error occurs after loading the module when you click select character and has to do with custom races/tlk files/ deities of characters in the local vault. So this is not what is referred to here. The "cannot find instance of object" occurs I think when loading a ...
If you have created a character that includes custom races, classes, etc, provided by a hak in a module, any time you attempt to use Select Character for use in a module that does not use that exact same hak, the game will treat your custom character files as corrupt files and generally responds by crashing the game. I would suggest re-naming your Neverwinter Nights 2 folder in 'My Documents' ...
Thank you Selene, I have tried what you suggested and am still getting the message with just a few campaigns, namely "Tears of Ilmarid". Again, thanks. _________________ Help is good when asked for. Better when needed. Gaming Parents Studios Click Here
It could be an issue with the module, though you will be warned if you are missing any appropriate haks, or the module has not been updated to support the current NWN 2 update version.
Hey Fornold, I sent you an email, but it looks like the save you sent along was actually corrupted somehow. Mind trying again? (Or anyone else?) _________________ Matthew Rorie Marketing/PR Producer, Obsidian Entertainment
Mathew, I really appreciate you guys showing us this kind of support. I cannot supply you with a save game, for this happens before I can even load the campaign. I can't save a game that hasn't started. _________________ Help is good when asked for. Better when needed. Gaming Parents Studios Click Here
Quote: Posted 11/09/09 21:24 (GMT) by Matthew Rorie Hey guys, Here's what our programmer said: "Would it be possible for one of the people reporting in that thread to provide us with a module or save game where they are experiencing the problem? That error really should only come up if the game is unable to load the module.ifo file contained within a module… which would suggest that either the file is missing or...

I have the same problem. It occured after I installed the 1.23 patch. Nothing in the override folder. The game crashes after I select Tears of the Ilmarid 2. _________________ ***************************** Magus Helix Mage Ultima *****************************
