Call me captain obvious but I just found a video that I would believe is the reason horizons is what it was, it is the worlds Fair Futurama. Is it safe to say this ride has a relation to horizons. Heres the link ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-5aK0H05jk ) I do not have right to this video.

I would ask around for more details. Seems to be a interesting topic here.

But yeah, very similar. Also notable from 1939 is the ride "Highways and Horizons", which featured a VERY SSE-like city at the end.
I wrote a thesis on this a few years back that talks about this...I think I have it in my blog, or a rough draft, at least.

Definitely some similarities! I have the brochures for the '39 and '64 versions. They're awesome!!! Shot from '64 is below...
Also, here's a pic from the '39 one vs Horizons:
Ah yes, nothing ever bad can come from letting Man settle and conquer where ever they want too. Just listen to how excited he gets about tearing down the rain forest to build a road!
I love the Futurama building.
I want to see it house a FUTURAMA ride...

I totally disagree. Look at how well county fairs continue to do -- and the best you'll see at those typically are some old, scary carnie rides, bad food, bands way past their prime, a smelly petting zoo, and an expo hall full of crap offerings from local businesses. And trust me, these things are not cheap anymore! If people are willing to come out in hordes to see that kind of junk, imagine what kind of turnout you'd get at...

What's cool is that, unlike other temporary World's Fairs, a lot of the exhibits still exist today, or at least the buildings for them do. I recently had the opportunity to purchase some concept...
