You want to be safe? Join the Navy. They have aircraft and they have weather jobs as well. you can take your pick. You still get to see the world, but you get a hot shower (most of the time) and 3 meals a day without sleeping in the sand! No front line duty for most navy jobs.

Sounds like there's more to the story...Odds are so low they discharge you after training even due to manning issues...In the Air Force, they force you to crosstrain into another job.

Ya, it's next to impossible that you would be discharged right after training these days. Just remember you can go anywhere at any time regardless of your MOS. No matter what your recruiter says you will be put where you are needed.
no no, I wasn't having any second thoughts at ALL. Both my grandpa and dad were DISAPPOINTED to be discharged...... they wanted to stay in (Especially my grandpa!).... thats how I feel, I don't want to enlist and train and get going and then suddenly be dropped. Thats what I'm worried about.......

That does not matter, you will remember what you will learn in training for the rest of your life. You will learn a lot. You probably will not be dropped ...

You either want to enlist or you don't want to enlist. If you go around trying to analyze too...

Plus being on a carrier is being at the "tip of the spear" so to speak. Your battle...

And if she walks behind a running Hornet, I can GUARANTEE the weather will be "hot & VERY windy"...
