not a bad price, you'll need oil and a fuel filter too. quality is ok, not proper german stuff but should be alright.

Is it just a standard service you are wanting to do as, if so, I would question the need for some of the parts in the kit (although they would be usefull as spares). If you're having some running problems etc fair enough otherwise out of the kit I would probably just be looking at Plugs condensor points set Oil strainer gasket kit Complete The Leads, Distributor cap and ...

I would say it's a waste of £40. The only bits you need during regular servicing are the following (on aircooled engines):- - Spark plugs (every 6,000 miles on a carburettor aircooled engine, 15,000 km on a mexican beetle) - Oil - Oil strainer gasket kit - Oil filter (mexican beetle - they fit most watercooled VWs) - Air filter Approximate cost less than £20 excluding the oil. ...

It's more than you need, and some of those parts will easily do 50K mls. without attention. Just replace what needs replacing, and keep checking the rest. Always carry a spare fan belt and the tools to fit it.
