Thread: Enfield ramrod question?

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by 17Z
My Nepalese Enfield rifle/musket's ramrod has been 'field' modified after a fashion. The end that slides into the stock has been forged into sort of a hook shape. Reminding me of a single barbed ball worm. I imagine it was so modified to become a 'breech crud scraper', bit who knows? May have been so modified to be a better 'Ghurka back scratcher'! Anyhow, I am going to weld it back up ...

uuuuhh....Not for sure I can replicate that particular thread or not. Might be able to. It may get some SAE threads just for looks. I had thought of just picking up one of the genuine Nepal made rods offered, but had decided to save the dollars for use towards a Brunswick musket. Thanks for the info...it's greatly appreciated.

I don't know if these Nepalese rods are the same as regular Enfield rods, but if they are, the thread is the same as that of the lock sidenail. That would give you some idea of what the thread looked like. Pukka.
