The serial number stamped on the back of the rear sight leaf does not match the serial numbers on the bolt, receiver and barrel. Matching serial numbers on receiver and barrel shank. "WRV" looks like a unit mark. The "V" is then almost certainly "Volunteers" So, perhaps West Riding Volunteers? http://www.army.mod.uk/signals/organisation/8128.a spx The link is to the West riding Volunteers

im enjoying your photos and naratives as well , weve gotten a little slow here since the rifles are less available from the usual supliers , your right - wrong volley sights , but dont dispair they are out there , longer ones in both cases , mines an eddystone , 1917 mkI* , love those "potbelly" stocks
