Has anyone tried the bose triport earplugs yet, and does the Cycle world motorcycle show going around the states have ear plug vendors at the show IE shures and the er6's. Have read the old threads and it looks like 50/50 between the er and the e2,
The new Bose earbuds don't have any noise reduction at all. Get the ER-6i, you're gonna' love em'.
The Cycle World shows don't carry either. They usually have one or two audiologists that can fit you for their custom earbuds. They take impressions of your ears and in a week or two they send you your earbuds through the mail.
I had custom in-ear monitors made for GBP£140 and couldn't get them comfortable or to seal properly. With the refund I spent GBP£60 on a pair ER6i's which do both and bought another pair of glove with the difference.
ER6i, best bang for the buck. Comfortable under a helmet, blocks wind noise... and sounds great.. I've tried everything else.. custom molded ear monitors, helmet speakers, Shure, etc... Etymotic ER6i work best and are super comfy.
while at the show, see if BIG EAR has a stand, take a look at what they offer. on another note, i bought a pair of sony somethings locally a few months back, same in ear style as epytomic and sound similar IMOP, they are earplugs that block much noise and only cost $30 get one of those amps and your good to go. it was a cheap way for me to find out that i dont like music while riding.

Don't over-look the Shure E3c earphone. They offer exceptional sound, noise reduction and durability for motorcycle use. Just be sure to order the optional 3-flange rubber ear stems.

It's up to each individual to decide if listening to music via earbuds while riding is for them. IMHO, out on the open slab you need something to occupy your mind when you have long stretches to cross. I ride L.A. to Phoenix and back to visit family from time...
