Oh, I thought it was going to be more like, when your passing can you pick it up and deliver if your going anywhere near the next member. I drive to Portsmouth from Bournemouth every day, so thats around 60-miles along the way. I also drive to Bristol once a month maybe.

I would suggest a set of guidelines, one being that the member who wishes to bid for an item must be in contact with the person who will be picking up the item prior to bidding. hi great idea but if an item is large enough to cause high postage costs, then the logistics of transfering it between vehicles could be tricky ie drum of meth or ibc of used oil. personally i use a national company called " nightfreight " for large or odd shape items that the gpo wont/cant take. their cheap(ish) & they deliver door to door. however could work for specific needs, bits that happen to other end of country.... good...

I like the idea...perhaps we could have a section on the forum entitled 'Upcoming Journeys'....anytime a forum member is about to make a trip anyway they could post a start/finish postcode. Fairly basic, but it might gain some momentum..... FWIW I drive WS14 to CF63 and back once per month. Happy to help out with moving stuff.

Good idea. I do a similar thing for a friend from abroad. He gets items posted to me or, if local, I pick them up. Then he picks them up once a year. Saves loads on postage. Problems could be ‘item condition’. What may look good to the ‘collector’ of the item, may not to the buyer. And, the sellers often want cash if item is collected.
