Thread: ETTR on D700 optimal settings

I have been reading that if you set up your DSLR for low contrast setting for JPEG shooting that the histogram will give you a more actual readout for shooting raw and ETTR, On the D700 what menu option do I need to change for low contrast jpegs.

Page 140 of the D700 manual: Auto WB is good for 3500 through 8000 Kelvin. If you need a WB less than 3500 K or greater than 8000 K, you'll have to dial it in yourself one way or another. Was the problematic shot taken with a color temperature outside this range?
