i need to get rid of the EPC light forst...... so im told......
my car is a ml270 cdi, 2000.......
many thanks....
It is the Electronic Power Control and critical for diesel engines. I would have it diagnosed
by a tech that can read MB codes and see what is failing. The EPC unit itself may be
on the way out. It could also just be a faulty sensor. That is why it needs to be properly
diagnosed so the most cost efficient repair can be made.

Hi,
i doubt you have done the search. Noodles already pointed you in the right direction, you replied the probable fault (sensor). Have you replaces the sensor and did the right/left DIY?
br,
Timo
edit : please read (and search) http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w163...el-sensor.h tml http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w163...le-sensor.h tml
i have done the search and YES i have done the right left turn....
still nothing... but as i said, MERC had the car for 1 week and they couldnt solve it so im thinking its something they cant repair....
dont say much for the company..... the machanic just shrugged his sholders and said i dont know what it is...... they tested everything and said its all working but i still have lights on........
The steering angle sensor could be the cause, but do not just throw parts at the truck.
An SDS computer can read the sensor angle and see if it is correct.
As far as the EPC if all else has been ruled out then it is due. Don't shoot the messenger.

it costs alot to have replaced.... its the hole steering collom... hi,
quoting you - > have you changed the steering wheel sensor or not?
Yes/No answer please.
br,...
hi,
on your second post you said they diagnosed it to be steering angle sensor fault. Correct?
So based on that -
Option A) -> yes, steering angle sensor can cause the lights to come on. The left/right thing (you mention you did that) has no effect until you change the sensors. You should have know that if you would have read the info posted here. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/...
