Thread: ECU Tune

Just an update guys. Advance Motorsports in Coquitlam here is doing PowerChip ECU tunes for about $800. PowerChip claims 18 or so hp and tq gains. (Not sure exactly, check the pdf for details) Here's the PDF I got from them a while ago: Mer0386.pdf

very clean job and it looks like he did not even open my ECU

Yess I can feel a diference, mainly betwEen 3500 and 6000 rpm's.. What I noticed most is better gas milage.. Its only 20 hp gains, its not much, but for the $$ how else you gonna get 20 true hp.. I've also heard that our cars need to have their ECU physically opened up. Another member here reported that when he received his ECU back you could tell that it have been pried open. My dealer already told me if they see an ECU with pry marks they can/will flag your car in the system... Still considering doing it, but I'm waiting for the Kleemann headers to become available before making my decision.
