You'd never get NHS counselling in the UK because of bad dreams and forking out for private seems a bit extreme. Is it possible to train your brain out of dreaming, or change your sleep pattern or anything? It's also nightmares every night about other things too but like I say, consciously I'm mostly OK.

For a start it freaked out then I realised stress was possibly subconciously making me look for reassurance and happy memories. Both had been an ...

If I think about my ex during the day I will dream about him without fail that night (usually a dream where I am somehow inexplicably going out with him again and have to go through the break up all over again because I am also with my current boyfriend). I think this happens to me because I have no closure on the issue... we are not on speaking terms and I worry about the fact that he likely ...

I guess there's some truth in the no closure point Verityb – we pretty much hate each other, never talk and I'd like to bash him, which is unusual for me because I tend to stay reasonably civil with exes usually. His dad died more or less the moment we split up so I never got the chance to be upset with him or talk it over, he was going through enough as it was. And thanks for your nice comments ...
