Here we go guys. Thanks so much for the help so far.Im looking for a 1911.Buying for collection.Maybe taken to the range on occasion. If any carrying is done with this 1911 it will be OWB during the cold seaon,so i guess not much difference in carry between full size and bobtail when OWB?Generally want a full size, maybe a BobTail? Not sure the acurracy is a big reduction with a 4inch barell...

However, its a good deal more expensive than the others.
Have you looked at the Dan Wesson Valor?
Its their top of the line 1911, but still less expensive than the TRP.
I totally concur, and I ...
TRP's are great guns, but are now over priced (NIB anyway). So I guess I would vote Dan Wesson from your selection. Don't bother with the bobtail if you aren't going to carry it regularly. In cold season, 5" guns aren't really any harder to hide and they are easier to shoot well (better balance and recoil control).
I have no expirence with DW 5" guns. Personally I'd go Valor, but the ...

Well thats IMHO.

I haven't shot a trophy match either, I shoot against guys who have them though and they get impressive results.
First question I guess is do you want a magwell and or an ambi? If so, trophy match has them straight out of the box. I'm left handed and shoot IDPA competition, so I want both of those features. Dan Wesson is a little more of an exclusive club, maybe a little more of the cool ...

Wilsons are great, but no semi custom, Wilson included, is the holy grail of 1911s.
I don't think any one 1911 is. There are many top custom 1911s by the world's best custom smiths.
Wilson is not a custom smith these days, its a name of a semi custom 1911 company.
At least you got the kimber idea out of your head Honestly the two you are looking at are pretty comperably equiped. The SA has a few more external features, the DW is probably assembled a little tighter

+1 on TRP. Great shooter, very reliable and durable. Tie-breaker is life time warranty with great Springfield customer service. My TRP is just as accurate and reliable as my Wilson CQB. I love them both, but the TRP is less $$.
Out of the three you mentioned, I would go for the Wilson. It isn't the "Holy Grail", but it is awesome. (I suspect the "Holy Grail" of 1911's would be the prototype that JMB made himself) I was once one of those who wondered just what the hell was wrong with people spending several thousand dollars on a 1911. Then I had the money to afford one, and I needed noone to explain anything to me. Fit, finish and...

I think the TRP is now over-priced, but was a...
