Don't Give Up the Dream... By Tara Polen October 19, 2009 Quote: Patience, Dream-ers. That's the word from inside. Although they may be getting near to their last time out, an unnamed Atlanta Dream official assured me today that the team is still on the court. http://www.sportspagemagazine.com/content/bb/wp-bb /art-wp-bb/dont-give-up...

Quote: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported that Kathy Betty, a basketball supporter at Georgia Tech (men's and women's) is that one name. http://www.thegarrybettyfoundation.org/news1.html See the special thanks: http://ramblinwreck.cstv.com/genrel/050307aag.html Earthlink still has pretty ok business........

Glad they're finally reporting this out to the public. This is basically the same info I was given by a DFO insider last week, but I was asked not to say anything. So I kept mum...but now the cat's out the bag for everyone.

shrrew replied 2 months, 1 week ago
please please please let there be an Atlanta Dream! guess all we can do is wait and hope......

pilight replied 2 months, 1 week ago
I am still not encouraged.

I hope this news holds true. It would suck to lose teams to relocations and dispersal.

How can Kathy Betty or anyone else evaluate the Dream's ticket sales when there hasn't been an attempt to sell tickets for 2010. http://www.ajc.com/sports/atlanta-dream-may-have-1 52819.html Quote: "It's an investment opportunity, and [Betty] is vetting that and talking to the league and talking to those of us who were involved in bringing the team here...

As I think I have said before....be patient just a little bit longer, good news is on the way....understand that the waiting and silence breeds concern and frustration, but it is what it is....and ultimately the good news is worth waiting for....

WBD, it's great to have you around here, and I hope that what you're saying turns out to be true-- certainly all the rumors are what I'd expect if, indeed, a deal to save the team and keep it in the ATL were almost (but not quite) valid and inked. At the same time, I hope you understand some of the skepticism, especially from people who were around for the rounds of promises that got ...

I too am happy that the Atlanta Dream lives on. My guess is the former owner put the team on information "lock down" until a new owner came on board. I would have liked to have seen things handled differently but expect things to be very different with what appears to be a new, very "hands-on" owner. This sounds like a "dream fit." I suspect she has "deep pockets," is familiar with a poor drawing WBB...

That wasn't quite what I meant but hey....whatever. I just know what it's like to suddenly lose your team. I would have been happy to have silence and not knowing anything(but hearing from a reliable source not to worry, it will be ok but hold on)...if I was going to hear at the end of it that I was still going to have my team. Far better to have a team than to not have a team... From what I understood of the process when it started...
