Thread: Dogs sleeping in your bed? - Page 6 - Globalpaw.com Dog Forum

Started 1 year, 7 months ago by Dangels
All of my dogs are allowed to sleep in my bed, and I haven't had any problems with them. There are some rules, though. My dogs are not allowed to "hog the bed" meaning they are allowed to sleep on the bed, but must sleep in a way that always allows me to sleep comfortably. They know that it is "my bed" and it is the rule that if I tell them to move over or get down, they will do it. I think ...

Ours sleep with us.the puppy is on a trial run atm. The only way I would see it as an issue is if the dog gets agrressive ,if you tell it to move or to get off the bed. Romeo still asks permission to this day to get up as well as furniture if A. someone is sitting there or B. he is in a strangers home. he knows he is not allowed on my parents furniture for instance.

So a year and a half after my original post, Sophie has not slept in my bed for over a year now, but rather on a comfy doggie bed right next to me and she is still quite content. I have to say that I am happy that I did not keep allowing her to sleep on the bed. When I got Sophie, I was single and she was a puppy, so it was easy to have her sleep on my bed. But now that she is almost 80 lbs ...

Our chihuahua sleeps with my daughter, she is his momma. Our JRT sleeps with our son but only when invited in, JRT has dominance issues and they do get worse if he isn't kept in check. No dogs in mine and hubby's bed. My mastiffs sleep at the foot of the bed on the floor...NO Way are they getting in bed with us,LOL Where would we sleep? I do know mastiff owners who allow it but I can't imagine ...

I have 4 dogs. Gracie and Maggie sleep in the bed every night. Lucy sleeps in her crate because she sometimes decides to get into things. Sometimes though I let her sleep in the bed depending on how worn out she got that day. lol Gabby sometimes sleeps in the bed and sometimes on the floor depending on how hot it is that night. She always "asks" for my permission before jumping up onto the...

I forget if I posted...I probably did lol. I have 11 dogs. i ALWAYS sleep with Harry, Bob, Bjorn, and Cartman. On days my mom works double shifts, or morning shifts and if I don't have anything I have to do the next day I will sleep with all the dogs but Daggett and Charlotte (So 9 dogs). But the majority of nights I sleep with the four I said I always sleep with, and Lucy and Peanut...and ...

Well, Girl always sleeps on my feet, every night. Gordo always sleeps on the bed, usually right up against my back. Chewy is allowed on the bed, but usually chooses to sleep on the dog bed next to the foot of my bed. Rio sometimes likes to sleep on the bed, but more often than not, he will eventually go lay down on the floor, right next to the bed. I think my bed is usually too crowded for him ...

Kenya sleeps on my bed all the time. I do not really have any issues with it. She always farts or belches while sleeping on my bed though. Such a dainty little girl.

I work swing shift at my job and I get home around 4am-ish. Both Peety and Kaytee will always greet me when I come home and then I usually let them out for a potty break. After that it's straight to bed where I will sometimes have to slide Peety over acouple of inches so I can have my space. He usually goes beneath the covers with Kaytee and they settle in pretty quick. Peety has been ...

Quote: IMHO, if allowing a dog to sleep with you threatens your leadership role, you really need to rethink your relationship with your dog. If you have a proper "bond" with your dog, and you share trust and respect, you will NEVER have leadership issues (aka behaivor problems) in the first place. Very well said!

My 5 dogs sleep in my bed, and my mom's 5 dogs sleep in her bed! I have no problem with it. They don't take up a lot of space, cause mine range from 3 pounds to 16 pounds.

I always sleep facing toward the door...it annoys the humans because they want to cuddle and butt is toward their face. But hey, I have a job to do.

I wouldn't mind if Dudley slept in our bed, BUT, I would rather him have his own space and sleeping area. Also, with him being so small it would be much safer for him. He hasn't slept with us yet because he isn't fully housebroken but when he is housebroken I wont encourage him to sleep in our bed.
