Artest is trying to have Korean and Chinese characters that spell "Lakers" cut into his hair in the above video.
For Chinese, it appears Artest took it right off a web translator. Korean, there is apparently no such word. Or the translator I tried wasn't extensive enough.
Anyone who knows the languages, does Artest have it right?
If not...
Surprisingly, yes. The Korean is spelled correctly as well.
It's more of spelling out the sounds of "Lakers" than actually having a word for it. Mimicking the sound of the word "Lakers" using Korean characters.
Also its funny since his barber didn't know how to cut Korean wording with any style like script or old english for English so it just looks like the font on a billboard or something.
Artest is an amazing marketer. He knows tonight's game will be seen by millions in China/Korea. Some folks will be pleasantly surprised to see how he embraces different cultures.

Oh yeah, it works both ways too. In Japan, they pronounce rice with something that sounds similar to lice. Just sayin, you know, in case somebody might have the wonderful opportunity to visit the wonderful town of Kobe to dish on their orgasmic beef.

hmm...the third Chinese character means 'team' which is not necessary..."湖人" is cool enough, meaning "the people of the lake"
