Started 1 month, 1 week ago by Figment632
So I was thinking the other day that the Disney waterparks might be neglected. Blizzard Beach seems to never get anything new and TL got Crush and Gusher recently but doesn't get new attractions very often.
Also one of my main gripes is that Disney besides theming seems to keep the arrtactions in their water parks basic. They don't seem to try new or innovative things.
Schlitterbahn ...

Crush and Gusher was pretty new technology when it was installed.
Really, there haven't been that many advancements in water park technology. I'm not sure what you're expecting.

The reason the waterparks get less new attractions as they are really a suplement to WDW, the focus will always be on the pakrs, and as a park can never really be 'complete' the water parks will always get less attention. However I would like to see some more additions, particulary at BB.
On a side note that Dragon's Revenge looks incredible.
Pick which attraction at one of the theme parks you don't want to get refurbished so you can have a slide that goes left, left, right instead of right, left, right.
There is not much you can do with a water slide.
The Disney water parks are a hundred times better than any water park I personally have within 300 miles of my house.
Just getting something new for the sake of ...

Perhaps, but why?
While I agree it has been a while since the water parks have had anything new added, I would rather the investment be made at just about every other area of property first.
If money was infinite, sure, throw some dark ride water slides in there. Heck, make a dragon that flies around Typhoon Lagoon and randomly dunks people in the water.
However, in reality, the ...

I have no idea if water park attendance is up or down recently, but my own experience is that the cost of a Disney vacation has become soooo expensive over the last 10-15 years, that the ratio of Disney Commandos to regular vacationers has gone way, way up. Vacations get shortened, every available minute/penny is going to be spent marching through the park like Rommel through Africa, and the "let's just relax at the pool/water...

I have seen those water slides on TV, and quite frankly, they are still basically slides. The overall theme of the Disney water parks remains solid. I do not believe that a dark ride is necessary. (My opinion)
